Description
What does the cable do?
This cable is used to connect devices that output RGB via a SCART connector to a monitor/TV or other equipment that only has BNC jacks.
It is used most commonly used to connect devices which output RGB over SCART (such as many games consoles, gscartsw etc) to equipment such as Extron Crosspoints, other RGB interfaces or professional video monitors (Sony PVM/BVM etc).
An example of use: connecting the output of your GSCART switcher to your professional monitor or Extron device which only has BNC jacks.
What about sync?
This cable is a straight passthrough cable. Therefore, whatever sync signal it receives from your console & console SCART cable, it will passthrough that same signal. It will work with CSYNC, Sync over Composite and Sync on Luma provided your monitor/device can also handle that sync type.
Reversed Option (BNC to SCART)
These cables are configured for sync on pin 19, audio L pin 3 & audio R pin 1. I.e. “SCART to BNC”. We now offer an option to wire them in reverse for you. This configuration is sync on pin 20, audio L pin 6 & audio R pin 2 I.e. “BNC to SCART”. For the reversed option, a 470 ohm resistor is installed on the sync line by default for safe 75 ohm output.
Reversed cable for European consumer TVs notice: If you want to use the BNC to SCART cable with your SCART consumer TV, the BNC end does not provide +3V to provide blanking voltage to force the TV into RGB mode. We cannot provide this modification and it is something you’ll need to add yourself. Therefore, we only recommend this cable for those who wish to use it on other equipment i.e. scalers and pro-monitors.
