Early Japanese Sega Mega Drive 1 and USA Genesis 1 consoles suffer from overdriven audio from the headphone jack which ruins a well-balanced and clean stereo audio output. This issue was resolved starting with the VA3 revision, but earlier models can be corrected with this Preamp Fix Kit.
We also recommend using this fix when performing a Triple Bypass V2.1 install with headphones restoration on Japanese/USA Model 1 VA0-VA2 consoles.
